There seem to be a never-ending supply of tips and tricks about how to really make sure FB is working for your organisation, and so here are some of the ones which have come my way of late. Enjoy!
Firstly, if you’re struggling to see how Facebook fits with your other marketing activities, then read this extremely interesting article from The Wall Blog which discusses some top tips for using FB for your organisation, including creating real value for visitors, meaningful monitoring and making sure your efforts are properly resourced. Read it all, right here.
The Nonprofit Facebook Guy suggests a raft of apps that replace the now-defunct RSS-display function on FB pages. Read them all, here.
Mashable investigates how you can add tabs to your Facebook page, and how to then manage these to get you the traffic and actions you need from your visitors. Find out some more. Not to be out-done, All Facebook have a round up of some apps that will help you build tabs. This is a comprehensive list, with pricing (where appropriate) and pros and cons of each tool mentioned. Check it out.
If you’re building tabs, then read this useful article from Searchengineland which tells you how to boost the search engine optimisation (SEO) of your FB page, tabs and content. This really is worth a read.
Mashable do a nice step-by-step guide to enabling the Timeline feature on your personal FB profile (here you go) but also note that there are apparently no immediate plans to allow pages to benefit from this restyling.
Lastly, All Facebook gives you the skinny on creating subscription lists for your page here and how to edit your friends’ list, here.
